Schools out for Summer

Man, oh man what a difference a year can make!

I purposely dressed him in the same outfit so we could really SEE how much he's physically
changed and grown in one school year.

This year in the PK-3's he's learned:

-- to write his name

-- many, many Bible stories

-- how to share

-- how to stand in line

-- how to be a friend

-- improved cutting skills

-- how to follow a maze

-- how to sit on his square at carpet time

-- songs of all sorts in music class

-- counting by 10's

-- how to be the snack helper

-- coloring in the lines (sorta)

-- what a "center" is

-- how to "be the dad" at home center

-- responsibility for his backpack & folder

-- sight words

-- numbers 50-100: count and recognize

And most importantly...
-- that school is a place to love, a place we look forward to going to, a place full of friendly faces, high fives, and fist bumps, and teachers who love you on your very best and very worst of days, a place to belong and feel accepted, and a place we look forward to returning to in the fall! It was not just a good year, but a great year and in just 14 short years I'll be writing about him graduating from high school...oh my stars!

But for now...bring on

SUMMERTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the mouths of babes...

Cade's prayers last night...

Dear Lord,

Thank you that I got to go to church tonight,

Thanks for all my "fwiends,"

I'm happy that the 2 guys (Paul and Silas) "go'ed"out of jail,

Help us to be good God,

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

There is absolutely nothing sweeter to this momma's ears than hearing my child talk to God

Gym-tastic

This afternoon was Cade's end of the year gymnastics program. They had the gym decked out in Hollywood Oscar Night decor and can I just say...MAN, what a show the kids put on!

It was quite entertaining and Gracyn sat in my lap mesmerized for the entire hour and 15 minutes by her big brother a.k.a. "bubby" as she so sweetly says.
He has learned the basics on almost all apparatus this spring! I am so proud of his balance, stamina and agility skills!!!

He ROCKED the program and has a medal to prove it!!!

Can you tell I'm a proud momma?!??

Here are a few shots of the big event.

Thanks Coach Melissa!
We can't wait for summer gymnastics to start because of YOU.

Fun Fridays...my favorite things

A little blue coupon arrived in my mailbox last week and since I hadn't been in awhile I decided to visit Bath 'n Body Works to check out their new scents! And can I just say I am

SO

GLAD

I

DID.

Because I found my new house scent for spring...it's called pineapple orchid and it smells divine.
It's a perfect combination of smells that you'll love as soon as you light the wick! I've had several friends over since opening the candle and they have all commented on how lovely the house smells! Is you house in need of some spring-y smells? Are ya in a pinch for a Mother's Day gift on the fly? Then jet on over to B 'n B and stock up while the sales' still on. Plug-ins are on sale for 6 bucks and candles are buy one get one 50% off.

Trust me...your house AND your friends will thank you!!!!
